LETTER: PA Senate to vote on improving medical marijuana law

The Pennsylvania Senate is expected to consider amendments to SB 3, the state’s medical marijuana bill, within the next week. Make sure your elected representative hears from you before casting his or her vote!

The current version of SB 3 is so limited it wouldn’t meet MPP’s definition of an effective medical marijuana law. It excludes both vaporization and smoking. In addition, it leaves behind the vast majority of patients who could find relief from medical cannabis — those with chronic, severe pain.

Amendments will be proposed to fix those shortcomings by adding vaporization and expanding the list of qualifying conditions. Please take two minutes to call your state senator to urge support for these compassionate amendments. We’ve provided a call script, your senator’s number, and tips to make it a quick and painless process.

If you don’t feel comfortable calling your state senator, you can instead send an email with just a few clicks of your mouse.

If you are a seriously ill patient who finds vaporization works best for you or who has severe pain, please also share your story with us to help build the case for those amendments.

Raise your voice today to keep large numbers of patients from being left behind and to make sure patients can administer their medicine the way that works best for them. Then, share this with other Pennsylvanians so that they, too, can speak out for a comprehensive, compassionate program.

  1. Make it legal or people just import to Pennsylvania and the state gets nothing…
