Congressmen Joe Pitts and Fred Upton as well as Senator Orrin Hatch are circulating a paper dealing with proposed changes to the Children’s Health Insurance Program to start in October.
If enacted,as proposed, the changes will make Children’s Health Insurance eligibility more rigid and significantly reduce the number of children served. Passage of these changes will harm the health of thousands of children as well as negatively impact community health centers and hospital emergency rooms.
These proposed changes to the Children’s Health Insurance Program is an another example of the war on the poor and the near-poor.
