LETTER: Immensity of LGH profits

It is worth noting that LGH could have easily paid CASH to build the taxpayer-funded downtown Lancaster convention center, each and every one of the last several years.  In comparison, Lancaster County taxpayers will be paying off its construction loans for at least four decades, possibly much longer if the bonds are refinanced (which is extremely likely).

I’m not suggesting that LGH pay off the convention center construction bonds; I’m just trying to put LGH’s immense annual profits in perspective.

That is a scary thought: we could now have three or four convention centers just from LGH’s excess profits.
