Anyone with common sense knows that EVENTUALLY the existing convention center will be said to be too small and we are not getting booking due to size. Look around and see for yourself, from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia just in our state.
Our CC can be extended to the corner of Duke and OVER the top of the historic buildings to VINE and still not be a successful site. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. This center does not have the main element to succeed and that is Location for easy access.
You can remodel the railroad station but it does not change the fact that we do not have fast rail. You can spend millions for trolleys to take people from the rail lines to the hotel and convention center but who will do that? You can bring them in to the Lancaster Airport for $50 each way from Baltimore or elsewhere, but they still need to get transported.
People want to walk to action or have major highways available. We do not even have big bookings and yet have major backups in downtown. You need a map to park and find the building.
We will not learn from our mistakes, but instead make additional ones to cover up the existing ones. This is government at its worse.
