Leaks from AG Kathleen Kane case ‘designed to poison the jury pool,’ attorney says

HARRISBURG PATRIOT-NEWS: Attorney General Kathleen Kane’s attorney, Gerald Shargel, said Wednesday that leaks concerning the disciplinary proceedings were likely designed to poison the possible jury pool in the pending leak case.

“These leaks are part of a broader campaign to deprive the Attorney General of the process to which she is due,” he said, in a written statement. “Simply put, she is entitled to a fair trial by an untainted jury.”

On Tuesday, the Associated Press obtained a copy of the secret Aug. 25 petition by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel recommending that the state Supreme Court suspend Kane’s law license… (more)
