Editorial “The profit-driven abortion business” opines:
Planned Parenthood continues to generate eye-popping revenues — $87 million last year (with net assets of more than $1.2 billion). Of that total, 45 percent came from government support.
WATCHDOG: “Planned Parenthood is the largest U.S. provider of reproductive health services, including cancer screening, HIV screening and counseling, contraception, and abortion.
“Contraception accounts for 35% of PPFA’s total services and abortions account for 3%; PPFA conducts roughly 300,000 abortions each year, among 3 million people served.” – Wikipedia
The implication is that the government is paying 35% of Planned Parenthood’s cost but 65% of its expense is for non birth control related public health efforts. Not a bad deal.
Maybe my math is wrong but 300,000 abortions out of 3,000,000 served is 10%, not 3%.
EDITOR: Good catch of an apparent Wikipedia mistake!
