Kudos to City for its cleanup efforts

Early Saturday morning visitors to downtown were greeted with litter free streets and, and with a rare exception, empty trash receptacles despite First Friday crowds the evening before.

This was a welcome change from the dirty streets and overflowing trash cans of the past couple of Saturdays.

As usual, when streets are clean, few people litter.   So even by noon downtown streets and sidewalks were clean and inviting.

When encountered walking to his downtown home, Mayor Rick Gray said it is always the practice to clean up after First Friday.   The Watchdog urged this be done after every Friday evening.

When his motorcycle accident was mentioned,  Gray said  he was “80% recovered to my former 85% condition.” The mayor was walking at a normal gate and carrying a full shopping bag.
