Kerry launches verbal attack on Moscow

FINANCIAL TIMES: US secretary of state John Kerry on Thursday launched a blistering attack on Russia’s activities in eastern Ukraine, accusing it of using “gross intimidation” to actively subvert the democratic process in its neighbour.

While stopping short of announcing new sanctions, Mr Kerry said the world was ready to act if Moscow did not take steps to de-escalate a crisis that Russia was itself stoking…

Mr Kerry was talking after Russia ordered large-scale military exercises on the border of Ukraine on Thursday while Kiev sent its army to flush out armed pro-Russia rebels in the east of the country, raising tensions between the two countries to new heights… (more)
