Judge consents to Harrisburg Receiver William Lynch and city council request for reconsideration of tax hike ruling

HARRISBURG PATRIOT-NEWS:  After Commonwealth Court Judge Bonnie Brigance Leadbetter ruled in favor of Harrisburg Receiver William Lynch in requiring City Council to adopt an income tax hike, Lynch joined council in requesting that Leadbetter reconsider her decision yesterday and she obliged

Shortly after yesterday’s telephone hearing, Leadbetter granted the application for reconsideration of her order requiring council to increase the income tax for city residents form 1 percent to 2 percent as called for in the state-sponsored fiscal recovery plan for Harrisburg.

“Certainly if there is a chance to create a more cooperative environment and resolve matters without litigation that will be beneficial to us all,” said Cory Angell, Lynch’s spokesman…  (more)
