Joe Sestak talks Guantanamo Bay closure, national security during Allentown campaign stop

LEHIGH VALLEY MORNING CALL: … Sestak praised the Obama administration’s nuclear pact with Iran, citing the agreement’s constraints on Iran’s nuclear capabilities as an example of why diplomatic efforts matter.

But he was critical of the president’s approach to combating militants in Iraq and Syria, arguing that U.S. efforts to build a coalition against ISIS were too slow and should have been more aggressive.

Sestak also called for more focus on the military’s capabilities than on the sheer numbers of its ships and aircraft.
