A page A5 Associated Press dispatch is headed “Obama warns Wall Street not to block new regulations” and goes on to say “[President] Obama insisted Monday that there is an urgent need for tighter financial regulation, and he cautioned his audience not to try to block it.”
WATCHDOG: Although the article devotes 18 column inches to the story, it fails to say what the president’s five recommendations are. Lest we unduly blame our local newspapers, a quick search of USATODAY found no mention of the speech and the New York Times article also failed to say what Obama was proposing.
To its credit, the Times did link to a video of the speech and published the text at http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/15/business/15obamatext.html .
Thank God for C-SPAN which is also on Siriius XM radio!
