A May 12th article is headed “Chamber pushes back annual dinner”. It is now scheduled for July 29th with the F & M Alumni Center reserved as back up.
WATCHDOG: While we anticipate the convention center and hotel will be in service by mid-June, it is smart to allow a month for operations to be phased in. We respect Interstate Hotels’ assurances that sufficient experienced staff can be borrowed from other Marriotts as is planned for the League of City Mayors event in late June. Nevertheless, the Chamber of Commerce delay will make it possible for less help to be imported for its event and allow time for the newly hired to train and to gain experience working as a team.
