Article “Manheim Township High School to offer International Baccalaureate program” reports “It will be the second Lancaster County high school, along with McCaskey, to offer an IB program, which emphasizes a liberal arts education with a global perspective.”
WATCHDOG: A wag of the tail for Manheim Township. At a time when American children trail far behind other Western nations for education accomplishments (although reportedly rated first for ‘self esteem’!), we need to encourage and facilitate the education of our most motivated and able of our youngsters.
Perhaps rather than simply congratulating the Manheim Township school board, we should be chastising other major regional districts for not following suit.
