INTELLIGENCER JOURNAL

An editorial entitled “Stimulus payoff” begins with a quote from the Pennsylvania Republican Party:

“Americans will be spending the next few decades paying for a failed government experiment that provided zero relief.” In contrast, the editorial goes on to list a half dozen funded local projects that have provided much needed employment for idle workers and equipment.

It concludes: And there are legitimate cost concerns about whether the country should expand the stimulus. But to insist, as TV talk show host Glenn Beck did, that the stimulus “still hasn’t done squat,” ignores the positive impact it has had on the economy. Worse, it feeds a culture in Washington that has become so divisive that there is little room for compromise.’

WATCHDOG: A wag of the tail. We couldn’t have said it better.
