Hotel Room Rental Tax collection up 9% for May

According to the County report on Room Sales Tax Collections for May, 2012, proceed are up almost 9% from the corresponding period in 2011.

Combined Excise Taxes and Room Rental taxes for May, 2012 came to $563,590.  In May 2011, the collection was  $527,954.

Since February, the 20% of the Hotel Room Sales Tax that previously was paid to the County Tourist Bureau has instead been paid over to the Convention Center Authority to help meet debt obligations.
