Harrisburg’s 2009 audit is complete; mayor says last administration left $4M in unpaid bills.

Thompson took office in 2010 and said she inherited a financial mess from Reed, who approved healthy pay raises for uniformed union employees before vacating his seat. Those pay hikes have helped hinder Harrisburg’s financial recovery, she said. …

Even though a recent forensic audit commissioned by the Harrisburg Authority points out possibly illegal financial deals related to the movement of money while Reed was in office, Thompson said her team did not find any questionable financial activity in the 2009 annual audit ..  (more)
