…Because some STDs [Sexually Transmitted Diseases] do not show symptoms, and many people may not seek care because of the stigma surrounding STDs, it is estimated that case numbers are actually much higher.
Which gets us back to that official condom, or more accurately, condom wrapper. The city Health Department used philly.com to conduct an online vote to select the design for the wrapper on condoms to be distributed throughout the city to promote safe sex. Michael Bodenberger’s design was selected from 100 entries.
Nutter says the condom campaign is “part of a broader, ongoing effort to help Philadelphians achieve a better quality of life.” It’s needed. A survey shows 37 percent of sexually active Philadelphia high school students did not use a condom during their last sexual encounter…
