Financial reform will be “no walk in the park”

Somebody better be listening. This occupy movement is far from over. Two ideas are slowly catching on; a. that people really, really do have power, and b. that if that power can be mobilized effectively, the people will no longer tolerate our elections, our legislatures, our public executives, our public and private institutions, and “our” mass media outlets, being bought away from the people they were created to serve by cabals of corporate and private individuals with overwhelming income and assets and a singular agenda to preserve and extend their private moneyed interests.

The occupy movements are heroically learning, and teaching all of us who are watching, that change is not going to be a “walk in the park”. Power fights back with a growing fury that we can see the beginnings of in the violence of the police.

My vote for the next move, would be to have a huge national campaign to amend the constitution to get money out of politics. This is the rot at the core of our democratic hopes. Until we get this reform accomplished, everything else will be impossible.
