When originally conceived in 2007, the total amount of credits was set at $75 million a year, but has fallen to $60 million a year. It has performed well enough to warrant an expansion to the $100 million a year sought by the state and regional film offices — but only if it is reformed.

“As is the case with almost anything, as soon as you make dollars available, people find a way to get them for something other than what was intended,” said state Rep. Mike Sturla, a Lancaster Democrat who wants to expand the credit but restore its original focus… (more)
