Factions unite over prison reform in Pennsylvania

HARRISBURG PATRIOT-NEWS:  … [Former governor] George Leader will be at the Capitol today with Brouillette, Janeczek and Reginald T. Shuford, executive director of ACLU of Pennsylvania; Michael Geer, president of the Pennsylvania Family Institute; and William DiMascio, executive director of The Prison Society, and the unlikely list goes on.

“Lo and behold,” said Brouillette, “here’s one issue that crosses the ideological lines and can actually achieve both objectives from both ends of the spectrum. … When you can say, ‘Hey — you can spend less and do more!’ Who could oppose that?”

So many problems today, he said, “are beyond any particular group to solve by themselves. We’ve got to put America ahead of political party.” …  (more)
