Could there be as-yet-unannounced plans to make College Ave one-way (probably north) from James St to Harrisburg Pike when the new street is put in that is to connect College Ave. to Liberty St (and that will run through the middle of a parking lot behind College Row and the new organic foods market)?
Shouldn’t the City be asked to reveal its ENTIRE plan for changing the city streets, instead of just one piece at a time (ala John Fry)?
And what about the parallel parking spaces that the Mayor were going to go on one side of College Ave? What has happened to that plan? Why hasn’t it been done since it was approved by residents (the few who still live there – most of the properties are owned by the College) and also by City Hall?
My only concern in all this is that what is done is for the benefit of Lancaster’s 60,000 citizens and not just 2,000 F&M students, and that the entire process is transparent and has public input. Only in this way can confidence be restored in city government.
