F&M affecting real estate values

Who was involved with the Norfolk Southern project with F & M? Did not any  one in the township office know what was going on?

School Lane Hills is being hit hard because of this and the re-sales are mounting daily. Also, the taxes in the Township are another factor why younger homeowners are looking elsewhere for high end housing.

F&M is turning out to be like a cancer in the western part of the city and is sincerely affecting real estate values, not for the better may  I add.

  1. In 2006, F&M held unilateral talks with Norfolk Southern – they did not do this through township officials.

An Intell news story headed “Rail yard relocation eyed in northwest” dated Oct. 25, 2006, includes this statement:

F&M has been in talks with Norfolk Southern, [John Fry] said, to see if the railroad would “allow us to connect the college and the surrounding neighborhood to the Armstrong site. … We asked Norfolk Southern if they might consider moving.”
