A city within a city

F&M College, self-regulated as a “city within a city”, has again used its own police force to prevent public exposure of student crime. (“Group unhappy with F&M handling of race incident” by Sunday News staff writer Paula Wolf).

As a talk-back correspondent wrote: “F&M seems to have its own ‘police force’ that is allowed to trample civil rights and ‘resolve’ assault charges all on its own. A little fiefdom right smack dab in the middle of the city.”

  1. They’re a security force. They’re like mall cops. The college didn’t broadcast any single person’s account of an alleged crime because of the legal issues involved.
