Engineer In Fatal NYC Train Crash Likely Won’t Be Charged With A Crime

NTSB officials said that the derailment could have been averted if the train had been equipped with recommended positive control technology to automatically slow or stop speeding trains exceeding speed limits or on collision courses.

In addition, the feds have ordered all trains to have two engineers in a cab. They are also modifying signal systems in specific locations and have sent a large safety “strike team” to put the nation’s busiest railroad under the microscope in an intensive 60-day review… (more)
