NewsLanc recently received an e-mail warning “You’re probably already aware of the idiocy below, but just in case…”
Being referenced were two separate efforts by benighted State Representatives Gene DiGirolamo and Ken Smith to eviscerate methadone treatment by such measures as putting a moratorium on new clinics, preventing patients from driving cars, and mandating the very nature of treatment. Instead of restricting their ignorance to making laws, they want to also malpractice as physicians!
“Idiocy” is hardly a harsh enough word to describe such inanities. Apparently they would prefer addicts to remain addicted to heroin, commit crimes, and become wards of the state, or to spread HIV/AIDS and hepatitis among themselves and to our loved ones.
Shame on the public for electing such dolts!
