Pennsylvania Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell on Monday said that Republican desires to repeal the 14th Amendment are “cuckoo” and prove that many in the GOP “are nuts.” …
But Rendell contended that Republican support for the idea has little to do with a desire to reform immigration law and is instead designed to sway voters ahead of November’s election.
“I have respect for [Sen.] Lindsey Graham and [Sen.] John McCain and even Leader Boehner, but they’re too smart to think we should repeal the 14th Amendment. They’ve got to be just feeding the base,” said Rendell…
