County hotel room rental tax collections up 24% in January

 One flower does not make a spring, but it is good news for the Convention Center and Tourist Bureau that tax revenues increased from $224,328 in January of last year to $277,731 for January, 2012.

 A note from the Office of the County Treasurer indicates that January, 2012 total collection included arrearages from prior months.   Whether those arrearages were less or more than arrearages collected during January, 2011 was not stated.
