REF: I agree that there is no clear way to come out of this one.  But I respectfully suggest you are missing the importance of the Obama Doctrine:  That we no longer will be the policeman of the world but rather will only support joint efforts.  This is huge, comparable almost to the Monroe Doctrine.  It is a realistic recognition of the USA’s place in the world.
