Corbett’s no-tax vow to voters at issue

TRIBUNE-REVIEW:   Grover Norquist is not calling the shots in Pennsylvania, Gov. Tom Corbett says.

In an interview with the Tribune-Review, the Republican governor this week disputed the assertion by critics that Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, controls policy in Pennsylvania through its no-tax pledge that Corbett and 34 of 253 state lawmakers took.

“He isn’t pulling the strings. I haven’t talked to him,” Corbett said. “I saw him once when I happened to be in Washington” for a National Governors Association meeting. “He’s not on my speed dial.”… (more)
