Gov. Tom Corbett did not notify the Penn State board of trustees about the state’s investigation of former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky because of grand jury secrecy rules, he said.

As attorney general until he became governor in January, Corbett was the state’s top law enforcer during the investigation into Sandusky that began three years ago. Sandusky was arrested earlier this month on charges that he sexually abused boys. A grand jury report detailed eight separate incidents in which Sandusky is accused of abusing boys as young as 8 between 1994 and 2008…

EDITOR: When will someone ask Corbett: What did he know, when did he know about it, what did he do?
News reports indicate that Corbett launced an investigation in 2009, which is when, I believe, he has publically stated he first became aware of allegations against Sandusky. It will be very interesting to see if this date changes as the true story unfolds. Corbett’s chastising of others for their failure to act may, in retrospect, seem to have been a bit disengenuous.
