Corbett meets with former Penn State players on suit, scandal

HARRISBURG PATRIOT-NEWS:  Gov. Tom Corbett’s charm offensive with Penn Staters continued tonight with a two-hour meeting with a broad cross-section of former Penn State football players to explain his lawsuit against the NCAA and, apparently, take other questions about his past actions in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse case

The once-pristine Penn State football program is now linked — through the former defensive coordinator who never really cut his ties to the team — to the one of the worst scandals in the history of college sports….

And Corbett, a whipping boy for many angry Penn State alumni who feel the school and beloved former head coach Joe Paterno have been made the fall guys for Sandusky’s crimes, is pushing back with a fight aimed at helping both him and Penn State…  (more)
