Conklin leads Saidel by almost 4,000 votes in final count

Although a recount looms as a possibility, Rep. Scott Conklin, D-Centre, appears to have squeaked out a victory over former Philadelphia City Controller Jonathon Saidel by 3,808 votes in the Democratic primary for lieutenant governor.

With all precincts reporting, Conklin has 316,557 votes and Saidel has 312,749 votes.

The Department of State has until Thursday to order a recount if it deems one necessary.
