Commissioner Martin to Serve on State’s Local Government Advisory Committee

COUNTY PRESS RELEASE

(Lancaster, PA) –    Commissioner Scott Martin, Chairman of the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners, was appointed by Governor Tom Corbett to serve on the state Local Government Advisory Committee.

The Local Government Advisory Committee is an advisory and oversight committee that studies the impact of legislation on local governments.  The committee is chaired by Lieutenant Governor Jim Cawley.

“I am humbled to serve on this committee,” said Commissioner Martin.  “The issues facing our local governments are great and I am honored to have the opportunity to offer perspective on the real impact proposed legislation will have on local governments and ultimately the taxpayers.   I believe my past and present involvement with the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania, and numerous statewide commissions and boards, in addition to my current position as County Commissioner for Lancaster County, will afford me the ability to offer sound analysis in this area.”
