Carter Praises Chávez’ Commitment to ‘Improving Lives’ of His People

EDITOR: We are glad that former president Jimmy Carter has spoken up for Hugo Chávez’. Just because someone doesn’t particularly like the USA doesn’t make them per se a bad person. We were offended by critical remarks attributed to President Obama on the day of Chávez’ death. Decency requires a couple of days of silence before criticism. Just because he didn’t like our practices doesn’t mean we can’t respect his accomplishments.
