The consequences of the changes in newspapers delivery came home to suburbanites on the first cool, rainy, fall like day.
With the prior part time paper deliver, one opened one’s front door, quickly reached down, and scooped up the newspaper from the front step. The reason for moving “quickly” was the night time attire.
Now, not only do we have to at least wear a bathrobe, but on cold or rainy days also shoes, jacket and perhaps a hat as we make the dash out to the driveway.
How long it will take for suburbanites to decide “To heck with this” and simply sit in their p.j.s and read the Intell on the Internet is a question that time will tell.
