Bragging war between Linden Hall and Lancaster Country Day School

LCDS boasts about their students receiving higher SAT (Student Aptitude Tests) scores than seniors at any of the county public high schools.

In turn, Linden Hall is running an advertisement showing their girls score higher than LCDS.

The tuition exceeds $10,000 a year at both schools.  On the other hand the International Baccalaureate program at J. P. McCaskey High School doesn’t cost parents  a cent.  We suspect the SAT scores are roughly comparable.

Our point:  An academically talented, motivated City or  Township youngster can  get an education that will place the student in contention for acceptance by the best schools in the country.

  1. At the faculty meeting at which the Headmaster of LCDS announced the ‘finding’ that its student SAT scores exceeded those of seniors at any public school in the county, one of the teachers present asked him, (I paraphrase) “Surely you are not attributing the SAT scores to the education we provide… .” His response was immediate: (I paraphrase) “Absolutely! Of course I do!”

When, subsequently, the Linden Hall ad ran, The Headmaster’s response was that Linden Hall’s ad was “unprofessional.”
