Bizarre state government policies

From the SCRANTON TIMES-TRIBUNE Editorial:

Pennsylvania’s government continues to walk away from readily available revenue while slashing funding for education and vital social services.

Republican majorities in both houses and Gov. Tom Corbett will not impose a fair tax on the natural gas industry. It continues to allow a massive reporting loophole that enables 70 percent of the corporations doing business in the commonwealth to report their income elsewhere. And it will not mandate sales tax payments by online retailers…

A bill in the U.S. Senate, the Marketplace Fairness Act, would require all online retailers to collect the sales. Sens. Bob Casey and Pat Toomey should support the legislation…
