Vice President Joe Biden says he has accepted a request from President Barack Obama to be his running mate in 2012, apparently killing Democratic hopes for a “dream team” ticket consisting of Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The New York Times reports that while campaigning on Monday in Pittsburgh, Biden predicted that Democrats will rally to win the 2010 midterms next month, thereby setting the table for an Obama-Biden sequel in 2012.
“I tell you what, there’s real trust, that’s why he’s asked me to run again,” Biden told the newspaper. “Look, he said, ‘We’re going to run together, are you going to run?’ I said: ‘Of course, you want me to run with you, I’m happy to run with you.’ ” …
