Attorney General Kathleen Kane defends pace of her lottery contract review

HARRISBURG PATRIOT-NEWS: Attorney General Kathleen Kane is showing no signs of breaking under the pressure being applied by Gove. Tom Corbett’s administration to get her to approve the contract he signed with the United Kingdom-based Camelot Global Services PA, LLC to take over management of the Pennsylvania Lottery.

Kane’s spokewoman Ellen Mellody described the nearly 200-page proposed contract as specialized and unique.

“The Office of the Attorney General personnel assigned to review the contract for form and legality has years of experience serving under several attorneys general, and is reviewing the contract for form and legality — not politics or policy,” Mellody stated… (more)
