Attorney General Corbett has gone too far

From the PATRIOT-NEWS:

…The lawsuit has two main claims: 1.That the health care bill illegally burdens states with increased Medicaid costs. 2. That it is unconstitutional to mandate all Americans have health insurance.

The cost claim is baseless and likely to be tossed quickly out in court. Yes, there will be additional Medicaid payments, but the health bill also grants more federal aid to states for insurance programs, making the resulting cost to states close to neutral.

The other argument, the invasion of personal choice, sounds compelling if you read the Bill of Rights in a vacuum, but decades of case law uphold the federal government’s ability to enact laws that take precedence over certain state and individual rights. …
