Assad and Kerry set out cases in battle for hearts and minds

FINANCIAL TIMES: John Kerry, US secretary of state, on Sunday stepped up frantic administration efforts to win congressional backing for military action against Syria as the country’s president Bashar al-Assad reportedly warned of unspecified retaliation for any US attack.

According to CBS News, Mr Assad, in an interview to be broadcast on Monday, denied using chemical weapons against his own people, thrusting him into a head-to-head battle for American hearts and minds with President Barack Obama…
