J. P. McCaskey Team #1 competed against Cumberland Valley (regional semi-final in Dauphin County Courthouse) on March 4th and lost in a tie breaker. In a high level trial each team won three ballots and two ballots were tied at 114 and 107.
In other news, at the La Salle Tournament McCaskey finished 2nd out of over 30 teams. Both McCaskey teams placed in the top 8 at the University of Pennsylvania Tournament.
This past August McCaskey competed in the Empire Tournament in October against some of the best teams in the world. Teams need to be chosen to compete in the Empire. McCaskey went 2-1-1 overall.
The team has been coached over a half dozen years by Kevin Webster, Acting Gifted Support Teacher. Webster is assisted by Colin Tucker. The McCaskey Team #2 vied with Team #1 for the Lancaster County championship.
