Alternate CPI is more realistic measurement of inflation

Just as the official unemployment rate understates unemployment by about half, the same has become true for the inflation rate which has been adjusted multiple times to the point where it is becoming a meaningless standard.  Taking out energy and food — which are big expenditures for most people — is cutting the inflation rate in half.
