Alleged child sex abuse victim’s lawyers respond to Jerry Sandusky’s New York Times interview

From the HARRISBURG PATRIOT-NEWS:

This statement was released today from the attorneys representing one of the alleged child sex abuse victims.

Attorney Andrew Shubin, who is a part of a legal team representing one of the Sandusky victims stated, “Once again, Jerry Sandusky has chosen to provide the national media with an entirely unconvincing denial and a series of bizarre explanations. If he had any compassion for his victims or our community, he would immediately accept responsibility for his behavior, express remorse for the pain he has caused, and spare the victims, their families, and our community further trauma.”

P-N Reader’s comment: Most of them supposedly struggled for years but never came forward until there was money to be had.

P-N Reader’s comment: So in your world, 10 different people got the idea in their heads to put themselves through every kind of public scrutiny and vilification imaginable (your post is a good example) just on the off chance that they could get some money out of a guy who was an assistant coach at PSU a decade ago? They magically all had this idea independently and managed to convince the prosecutor’s office that they had been molested with 10 different statements?

THIS is why high-profile molesters get away with it so often. Because attacking the victims is so much easier than believing someone associated with a beloved and sanctified sports program at a venerable university might ever do such a thing.

If nothing else, leave these kids alone.
