Affordable Care Act a success, Republicans return to Benghazi (and ignore minimum wage)

Haven’t heard much criticism in the past week or so about the Affordable Care Act? Little wonder. As the statistics and evaluations by insurance companies and others become available, it appears that ‘Obama Care’ is a significant success, all things considered. (We advocated ‘Medicare for everyone.’)

So what have the Republican leadership has changed the message. Now we are back to the fifth Congressional investigation of the tragic Benghazi event.

What we have is a ‘tempest in a tea pot.’ If it weren’t Benghazi, another event would be conjured up to attack the Obama administration. Are the Republicans trying to exploit the death of four brave Americans for political purposes?

In the 1960s, minimum wage came to almost $11 at todays dollar value. Currently it is $7.25.

We would much prefer that the Republicans turn their attention to restoring minimum wage in inflation corrected dollars, $10.10 over three years is President Obama’s proposal, so at least workers are back to where things were in the 1960s.
