A poll finds the Senate and governor’s races toss-ups with registered voters

…The poll points to ominous signs for Democrats. Voters are pessimistic about the state’s direction, the economy, and the performance of President Barack Obama, Madonna said. And Democratic voters say they are less likely to vote than Republicans.

Republican Pat Toomey, the former Lehigh Valley congressman and Wall Street banker, leads Democratic U.S. Rep. Sestak, the former Navy admiral, 31 percent to 28 percent among registered adults.

Toomey’s lead over Sestak grows to 9 points when surveying only those most likely to vote, according to the poll. Sestak defeated U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter in the Democratic primary in May…
