Convention USA is a website produced by a former Supreme Court Judge from Michigan.
Judge Thomas E. Brennan has advocated an Article V amendatory constitutional convention since 1982. See his Law Review article.
I was on a conference call with him last week and found him to be very serious about the effort.
He is a Republican (but not a big believer in partisanship) and, though he is a conservative, he opposes any approach that is partisan or ideologically limited. He believes we need a cross section.
He also thinks we need to initially take on issues that have wide support, e.g. end to gerrymandering. As the effort gets credibility it can take on more challenging issues.
He has developed a plan to hold a real Article V Convention.
Of course,there are lots of hurdles to implement it.
