A nation deteriorating before our eyes
Driving along I-95 to the Philadelphia airport, the Watchdog passed under bridge after bridge showing signs of progressive rust, long overdue for scraping and repainting and literally rotting away.
Not only do we not invest in transportation improvements such as high speed trains, we cannot even keep up the infrastructure that prior generations provided for our use.
Yet…yet we have construction workers sitting at home and construction equipment sitting idle. Our national policy is to fund workers unemployment insurance and give out food stamps rather than to put them usefully to work .
