A leap in Pennsylvania’s February tax collections provides bright spot

HARRISBURG PATRIOT-NEWS:  …For the first time this fiscal year, the collections came in above estimate for the month of February.

The February revenue report released today shows Pennsylvania collected $1.7 billion in general fund revenue last month, which was $15.6 million, or 0.9 percent, more than anticipated, according to the state Department of Revenue.

That brings the fiscal year-to-date collections to $15.5 billion, which is $481.6 million, or 3 percent, below estimate. That money supports the state’s $27 billion general fund budget… (more)
