Duncan ‘Mind-Boggled’ by Penn State Case

U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan found it “mind-boggling” that children were possibly abused for “so long” by a former Pennsylvania State University assistant football coach charged with sexual molestation…

Duncan said the Education Department is sending a team to Penn State to assess whether school officials complied with laws to disclose the alleged criminal activity.

“They will do a thoughtful and thorough investigation, and we’ll just go where the facts lead us,” Duncan said…

EDITOR: It is good that there will be some federal oversight.  To the best of our knowledge, the FBI may not have jurisdiction to investigate since this all occurred in Pennsylvania and the matter is subject to  Pennsylvania criminal statutes.  It was Tom Corbett’s attorney generals office that should have intervened over all those years.
